We discovered Monica one morning while reading a beautiful article she wrote for the local newspaper. Coincidentally , or not, we stopped by one of the condominiums in Snowmass that’s same day and the property manager gave us a list with the units for sale with Monica’s card attached to it. It turned out she also lived at the property and at that time I knew I had to get in touch with her. It was meant to be. She is extremely knowledgeable and very sweet., just a genuinely good person. She promptly put a list together based on our needs and scheduled some showings for the very next day. She helped us find the our dream condo and negotiated the best price and terms for our contract. She went above and beyond our expectations. She is extremely professional and a joyful person to work with. About Monica Montany
Originally from New England, Monica earned her degree at American University in Washington, D.C., and Ritsumeikan Daigaku in Kyoto, Japan. In 2007, she found her way to Aspen and embarked on a career in hospitality, residential property management, and, eventually, real estate sales.
Nothing made Monica truly appreciate the Aspen Snowmass lifestyle like her time living in New York City. It was a time of exciting changes to the city skyline - buildings like the new One World Trade Tower and 432 Park Avenue were taking shape, in addition to many other residential conversions and new developments, seemingly on every block. During her six years in the city, she handled transactions at buildings like 123 Washington and 15 William in downtown Manhattan. Having lived in both rural and urban settings, Monica knows how it feels to long for the Rocky Mountains!
Monica is forever grateful to have been hired by East West Partners in 2017 to sell the Snowmass Base Village Development. She’s had the privilege of contributing to the over-$500 million in developer sales at the Viceroy, Limelight, Lumin, One Snowmass, Electric Pass Lodge, Cirque, and Aura. She’s since branched out by offering broader real estate services with Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, representing more buyers and sellers in the Aspen Snowmass market. In 2025 she was recognized on the RealTrends list, ranking in the top 1.5% out of the 1.5 million real estate agents across the nation and #33 in Colorado.
As an active real estate professional, Monica stays at the forefront of the Aspen Snowmass market through nonstop research and networking. She truly enjoys getting to know her clients, helping them find their mountain dream home, and seeing them enjoy our magical ski resort community. Monica lives in Basalt, CO with her husband, Austin, and their baby, Jane. On her free time, Monica enjoys skiing, hiking, foraging, singing with her local jazz band, making art, and supporting local organizations like Challenge Aspen, Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, and Theatre Aspen.
